ABOUT US

UKIM Sisters is the sisters’ section of UK Islamic Mission.
We envision empowered Muslim women, young or old regardless of ethnic background, fulfilling their basic responsibility as ambassadors of Islam.

Aims & Objectives

UKIM Sisters provides a platform where sisters can unite to propagate the message of Islam, share their expertise and engage with the wider community at large.

Sustainable Work

UKIM promotes Islamic work rooted in community, guided by structure and principles that support rights, responsibilities, and ethical decision-making.

Environment

UKIM Sisters offers a women-only space for growth, recognising the unique voice and role of Muslim women in shaping a better future.

Training

We support the spiritual and personal development of women, helping them grow in confidence and share their faith with wider society.

Nurture Youth

We embrace our duty to mentor and nurture the youth, fostering mutual growth and long-term positive impact in the community.

Skill Transfer

Women gain life skills like mentorship and teamwork, supporting personal growth, education, and collaboration with other UKIM teams.

Sisterhood§

UKIM Sisters fosters strong bonds between women, building a supportive network rooted in shared values, trust, and collective purpose.

Within the sisters’ section, nationwide teams collaborate together to achieve the vision of the organisation which is split across multiple departments.

Organisational Structure

At the centre of the sisters’ section are the Central Team made up of the following roles: Sisters’ President, Vice President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary and Shurah members. Centre allocates work to the four Zones which include Scotland, Midland, North and South. Each Zone has a team with elected Heads of Zones as in charge. These Heads of Zones allocate work sent by Centre to the respective local branches.

The practice of consultation is followed at all levels and each team adheres to a strong sense of accountability. In practice this means that large ideas can reach a grassroots level and results in a feedback loop with reports taken regularly. Our work is more effective because of its widespread nature and close connection with the communities it serves.

Let there be a group among you who call ˹others˺ to goodness, encourage what is good, and forbid what is evil—it is they who will be successful. [Qur’an, 3:104]
